Membership matters at Lighthouse to All Nations Church.

In addition to some very tangible benefits to membership (for example, only members can attend and vote at the AGM), here are four good reasons why believers should be part of the (Ekklesia) local assembly:

1. By becoming part of an Ekklesia, you make visible your commitment to Christ and His people. Membership is one way to raise the flag of faith. You stand before God, before principalities and powers, before the congregation, and declare that you are part of this local body of believers.

2. Making a church commitment makes a powerful statement in a low-commitment culture. Being a member of an Ekklesia in such an environment makes a counter-cultural statement. It says “I am committed to this group of people, and they are committed to me. I am here to give, more than get.”

3. Membership of an Ekklesia keeps us accountable to each other. When we become part of a body, we are offering ourselves to one another to be encouraged, instructed, reproofed, and served. We are placing ourselves under leaders and submitting to their authority (Heb. 13:7). We are saying, “I am here to stay. I want to help you grow in godliness. Will you help me to do the same?”

4. Gives you an opportunity to commit to the body life of the local assembly and its assignments. To partner together for the advancement of the Kingdom, and to seek the things that make for unity, purity, and peace.

How to Become A New Member

Once you have attended services at Lighthouse for a few months, God may begin to prick your heart about becoming a member. Then, just contact Membership Pastor Iris Williams. She will invite you to the next series of 3 New Members Classes. Here you will learn about the History of Lighthouse, the Leadership of Lighthouse and the Apostolic Mandate of Lighthouse. You will see if this church fits you and we will see if you fit this church. Of course, there are application forms & information forms to be completed. You must agree to live by the Lighthouse Statement of Beliefs. Once you have completed the classes, and with the approval of the Elders, you will make a public declaration of your Commitment before the Congregation and be welcomed into the family.
